Her dead
Body wears the smile of accomplishment”
Eros and Thanatos have been bound together ever since the god of death
and the underworld Hades kidnapped the young maiden Persephone. The
fascination, and often infatuation, with death has become a cross-cultural
trope of surrender, ecstasy and contemplation transcending human life and
connecting it with the timeless fluidity of the ‘afterlife’, the ‘underworld’ or ‘the abyss’.
